TALKING ABOUT FREE TIME ACTIVITIES

In this Lesson about Hobbies and Free Time Activities, you will learn terms used to discuss your interests and preferences in English, as well as the names of different hobbies and free-time activities. Check the explanation and do the exercises.

Let's get to know some of the activities we can do in our free time.

To talk about free time activities and hobbies, we can use verbs like ‘like’, ‘love’, ‘enjoy’, or ‘hate’. For example, “I love going swimming”, “I enjoy watching TV”, or “I hate going shopping”. After these verbs, we should use a verb with -ing. We can also add words like ‘really’, ‘sometimes’, or ‘absolutely’ to make our meaning stronger or weaker. For instance, “I really like taking photos”, “Sometimes I enjoy going jogging”, or “I absolutely hate playing football”.
